All is Calm All is Bright

I come to my desk at night,

hot tea in hand.

If I am silent will I hear His voice?

And in my mind I  imagine the countryside with a barn and a house under a midnight sky. I walk up a hill in the crisp frosty air wearing plaid flannel pajamas, fuzzy sock, and cozy slippers. It is quiet and cold. I go up on the hill to meet Jesus. I wait for Him, everything my soul needs. I wait to rest my head on His shoulder and feel peace that lasts for eternity. And as I rest my head on His shoulder golden stars dust the sky, sheep and the cattle sleep safe in the barn, warm and sheltered, and up above I see angels and together we listen to them sing.

Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright. Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child. Holy infant so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight. Glories stream from heaven afar Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia, Christ the Savior is born! Christ the Savior is born

Silent night, holy night! Son of God love's pure light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face With dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus Lord, at Thy birth Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
