Weekend Care Package

Hello. Thanks for stopping by. It's the weekend before school lets out for the holidays and today a surprise package came in the mail from my cousin Emma. She knitted a scarf for me in one of my favorite colors. The thoughtfulness of the gift reminded me of two quotes I like;

Do small things with great love.

It’s the nature of love to create.

As you go through the weekend, maybe carry those two thoughts with you. Also, maybe this scripture too because we are in the season of Advent;

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD. Psalms 27:14

or maybe this version from the message

Stay with God! Take heart. Don't quit. I'll say it again: Stay with God. Psalms 27:14

Whether busy, lonely, joyful, grieving, scattered, or collected....let us stay with God, let us wait on Him and hope in Him.

Anxiety is Redundant by Trina @ Lalalovelythings.com

Sometimes when we stand up to something it gets worse before it gets better. I’ve battled fear, asked God for more faith and did my best to just do things afraid. But over time, I began to understand (and get a revelation) that the antidote to fear is LOVE. Perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). When I begin to receive more love I begin to become less afraid (the truth is…I still don’t have a total revelation of how great God’s love is.

Ministry of a Bird Feeder by Erin Loechner @ designformankind.com

I read somewhere that happiness is directly linked to vision, not in a metaphorical sense, but in a very real, scientific sense. The further your eyes focus on something beyond your horizon, the smaller/lighter/happier you feel. The study argued that, in particular, the people of Tokyo experience high levels of depression on the regular, simply because there aren’t a lot of places to look beyond the crowd or the buildings or the dense, pulsing population. There aren’t enough wide open spaces to observe, not enough areas to stretch out beyond yourself. To be free, or some small definition of the word.

When You Feel Unseen by Aimee Kollmansberger @ middlemercies.com

I turned on a worship playlist last Wednesday, my parched soul crying out for connection with Christ. This was a Spotify playlist that they curated for me based on the music that I had listened to in the past. The first song that came up was “You Know Me” by Steffany Gretzinger. One of the lyrics is “you know every detail of my life, you are God and you don’t miss a thing” and then at the end she sings the precious three-word phrase: you memorize me.
