What Made Her Lovely

She talked to God daily and that is what made her lovely.

I saw the quote above posted on Instagram and saved it to my collection.

The next day I read about Moses coming down from the mountain, unaware of his radiant face.

29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.
— Exodus 34:29

And the New Testament reading for the day was on the transfiguration.

28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. 29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning.
— Luke 9:28-29

It felt like God affirmed this gentle and gracious truth about beauty to me.

Yes, caring for ourselves and taking pride in our appearance is healthy and good, but also face time with God creates a divine true type of loveliness. I am thankful for this perspective.
